Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Liquid Degree app for Android and iOS and the website at liquiddegree.com. Liquid Degree is run by Matthew John Harmer, trading as Liquid Degree (registered business name LIQUID DEGREE), ABN 40 307 524 351, in Australia. We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Who the app is for
The app is for people aged 18 and over. It has an age gate when you open it. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
What we collect and why
No account. The app doesn’t have user accounts right now. You don’t give us a name, email or password to use it.
AI bartender chat. The AI bartender chat (including its bartender personas) isn’t live yet. When it launches, the text you type into it will be sent to Google Gemini, through Google Firebase Cloud Functions, to generate a reply. We’ll update this policy before it goes live, including whether chat history is stored on your device and how long Google keeps it.
Your photos. Photos you add in the app are stored on your device. We’ll update this policy if photos are ever uploaded or sent to Google Gemini.
Purchases. In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and purchases, so purchase information, such as what you bought and its status, is shared with RevenueCat, along with an anonymous app user ID and device information. We don’t see or store your card details.
If you don’t want to provide this information, some features, such as purchases, won’t work.
Shop links. Links from the app to cocktailharvest.com.au include a tracking tag (utm_source=ld_app) so the shop can see that the visit came from the app. Cocktail Harvest’s own privacy policy applies once you’re on that site.
Analytics. We don’t currently use analytics in the app or on this website. If we add an analytics service (such as Google Analytics) in future, we’ll update this policy first and explain what it collects.
Website. This website is a static site and doesn’t have a contact form. If we add cookies, a form, or other collection on the website, we’ll update this policy first.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that make the app work:
- Google (Gemini, through Firebase Cloud Functions), for chat replies (planned)
- RevenueCat, for purchase management
- Apple and Google, which process payments under their own privacy policies
We don’t sell your personal information.
Overseas transfers
Some of these providers may store or process data outside Australia, which may include the United States.
Keeping and deleting your information
Most data stays on your device, and you can remove it by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it. To ask us to delete anything held by RevenueCat or Google, see our Delete your data page.
Your rights
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or make a complaint, by emailing hello@liquiddegree.com. We’ll respond as soon as we can. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes coming
AI processing through Google (planned). AI bartender replies are planned to run on Google Gemini through Firebase Cloud Functions. When that goes live, we’ll update this policy with what’s sent and how long Google keeps it.
Accounts and cloud sync (planned). We plan to add accounts and cloud sync using Google Firebase. When that launches, we’ll update this policy to explain what’s stored, where, and how to delete it. Until then, none of this applies.
We’ll update the date at the top whenever this policy changes.
